We built Nibbler because we needed it
Two friends. A pile of unread books. A very frustrated cat. That's how this started.
From a shelf of unread books to 500,000 learners
In 2024, Alex and Maya were both trying to keep up with the flood of books, papers, and articles relevant to their work. They tried Blinkist, Readwise, Kindle highlights — nothing stuck. The problem wasn't finding summaries. It was turning ideas into lasting knowledge.
So they built a prototype for themselves: an AI that would take their own uploads and turn them into 5-minute lessons every morning, tailored to their goals and learning style. Friends wanted in. Then strangers. Then 500,000 learners across 40 countries.
Nibbler is still that same simple idea — just with a lot more orange cat.
Our values
Learning first
Every decision we make starts with the question: does this help people learn better?
Radically simple
We relentlessly cut complexity. If a feature doesn't earn its place, it doesn't ship.
Deeply caring
We build for real people with real goals, real distractions, and real lives.
Evidence-based
We lean on cognitive science — spaced repetition, retrieval practice, interleaving — not gimmicks.
